Trapping a Duchess – Episode 1

Hello, everyone!  My name is Michele Bekemeyer and I’m excited to present the first episode of my podcast reading of Trapping a Duchess! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Trapping a Duchess is a historical romance set in early nineteenth century England and features a hero and heroine as passionate as they are stubborn.

The jilting of the century…
Lady Sophie Sinclair is no stranger to scandal – a fact which has not stopped the Grand Dames of the ton – or her arrogant brother – from expecting wedding bells in her near future.  Enter Lord Zachary Quinley, an irresistible earl whose easygoing personality promises a marriage free of dictatorial entanglements.  The trouble is, in order for Sophie to have him, she’ll have to go head to head with the one man she never expected to see again.

Becomes the talk of the season…
Upon the death of his father, Lord Andrew Wolter returns home to take his rightful place as head of the family – and to take a wife.  His requirements are simple – he wants a docile bride who can fill a duchesses shoes and, more importantly, who won’t leave him standing at the altar.  When he meets the unassuming Lady Abigail Quinley, it appears his search is over.  Until he comes face to face with the woman who broke his heart.

And the romance of a lifetime…
When Andrew and Sophie set their sights on members of the same family, they embark on a dangerous game of bluff and call.  Tempers – and desires – flare as the two do their best to outwit one another.  But fate has other plans…including a seduction that changes everything.

Hey there! I just listened to the episode, and I must say I was mightily impressed. I am definitely intrigued by the story, and I will be subscribing.

I have a suggestion about a way you can improve your sound quality a little. If you want to email me or contact me via Skype, I’d be happy to talk you through it.

I enjoyed the story. I must admit, I am a lover of the Romantic and Victorian Era both, so I knew as soon as you set up the prologue I was hooked. You captured the the anger of that moment, the betrayal of something so certain and promised gone awry. Two hours. Good grief, I would have left after thirty minutes, I think, maybe an hour. I love how Simon pointed out the nosy watching on, recording Andrew’s behavior for circulation through the grapevine.

Great work on your first episode, Michelle! Your attention to detail and research carried this listener back to a place in forgotten history. I can’t wait until episode two!!

What an awesome story so far! You describe the characters so vividly that you can immediately envision them in your mind , sweeping you far away from the present to a past time you only wish you could have experienced. Your voice is so soft and enchanting as well , and the story leaves you thirsty for more.

I know you will be loved by all of your readers and congratulations on your first podcast. Your creativity is certainly a gift!

I will definately be subscribing and bring on episode two !!!!!!!
